I can no longer spend money on food. If my friends are going out solely to eat, chances are I'll skip out. I'm just gonna admit this now; being a girl is expensive. And since I use high-end products, it just has to be this way, or even more so. I figure I can self-indulge more after I get the job that I'll be doing for the next good portion of my life. That said, I do have college savings, but that money is SOLELY for college, and I would never spend it on anything other than college, and I most likely wouldn't let anyone borrow that cash because I've no right to do that.
So, for me :
-Korean clothes and skin products (it's the only cure for my sensitive porcelain skin... gotta protect it from the environment no matter what the costs!)
-groceries ... I guess you could call it that.... shampoo, floss, toothpaste, Q-tips, cotton swabs, deodorant - stuff like that adds up and I
hate it
I would also have to say cosmetics, although I don't wear it until formal stuff like weddings, graduation parties (where old Asian grandmas are present to LET YA HAVE IT,
CHINESE STYLE if she happens to see a girl who doesn't bother cleaning herself up, wearing nice clothes, and slapping some makeup on)
That said, I will break down the costs of the most basic things I would need.
Foundation + Powder + Blush = $16 + $20 + $10 = $46
Eyeliner[black] + Eyeshadows + White Eyeliner/Taiwanese Shimmer Stick + Mascara = $23 + 3($8) + $2 + $16 = $65
Lipstick = $ 26
Lip Gloss = $3 - $7
Now, for supplies : Eyelash curler, cosmetic brushes, etc. I won't calculate more prices because I would just burst into tears =P
So, in total, these basics add up to over a hundred bucks. Of course, since I have different colors of certain products for different occasions and different styles, goodness knows I had to fork up an arm and leg just to keep up with those formal occasions. Believe me when I say I wear relatively less makeup than other girls at those occasions, and none at all on a daily basis.
Why? Because I don't put on fake eyelashes or glue my eyelids or do any of that labor.
Note : I do use high-end products for high quality, so that would explain why ONE eyeliner pencil costs about $23 >< (includes stuff from Lancome, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Urban Decay, Sephora, Mac, Laneige, Etude House, etc etc etc)
In conclusion, my friends can now pig out all they want. Because. I. Can't. Afford. To. And forget paying for Anime Expo. I just can't bear the thought. Saving that fifty will save a girl a LOT of trouble.
Also the reason why I can't go ice skating with a friend who just came back to California. Not enough cash. I spent it on a skincare sale at the mall - it doesn't happen a lot, and I really needed stuff from the damn high-end line. I hate having sensitive skin. >___<
