people used to tell me that in college, you'd meet the best of friends, and from there nourish long lasting relationships, but that just isn't true for me.
what would you say is true? have you met any new friends in college? or perhaps you always had trouble making friends anyway? are your best friends now from hs or college?

I'd say the rate is the same for me, but the consequences are different because I'm only at school for almost nine hours a week - no lunch or recess to socialize, really; I do all of that in class. Yes, I've met new friends in college. My close friends are all from high school. I didn't ship myself off to a dorm. I value my personal time. I can now expand as a person, if you get where I'm coming from. I'm not dependent on hanging out with friends, nor am I fond of staying online all day, every day. That's being idle, and there are few things I dislike more. If ever there was a friend who did nothing but complain about boredom or sitting around when clearly they could have done something with their life and free time just so they could be somebody, then that's their problem.
