a certain member here can be overwhelming sometimes with her rather large words. how do YOU know your vocab? do you look up words when you read? or are you just endowed with context clues power?

How do I know my vocabulary....? Hmmm.... Well, I used to read quite a bit of Harry Potter back in sixth grade. I've been told I have very rich vocabulary, but I'm going to have to nourish it soon if I want it to improve. But I think I'm a lot better off than most in my year.

SOMETIMES??? it's impossible to listen to this girl talk for five minutes without having to reach for a dictionary ><  o please... ling, you did not get that extensive vocab from harry potter... people can actually understand that book  didn't you say that you read a dictionary? are you kidding me? she's always complaining about not having a dictionary though i don't see why she needs it.  i used to think ling did it on purpose, but when she shut up when i told her to please tone it down, it was obvious.... she breathes vocab  |

When did I ever say anything about reading the dictionary? And yeah, I do need a new one. I have the version for third graders, with, like, rubber duckies and thermometers.
