AP exams, standardized testing, testing in general..... what do you think? too much testing going on? is it really testing that measures knowledge? should the system be changed?
i hated testing in high school. but it did force some discipline in me.

I think testing keeps students in check. otherwise they wouldn't feel pressured into working hard. however it takes away the pleasure of studying even if the material is interesting.

I actually like testing month. AP exams yield an accumulation in pressure, when immediately deflates once the exams are over. I agree with Bliss -- testing forces students to study. Plus, I like block scheduling -- every other period. If there is some down time after testing, I can nap. Excerpts from the English portions of the AP exam and standardized formats are intriguing as well.
