The Scoop :
This series is based on the famous Chinese Legend of the Butterfly Couple - Li San Biu and Zhu Ying Tai. This series was remade in 2000 starring Noel (Vivian) Leung (Zhu Ying Tai), Alan Luo (Li San Biu), and Gary Chan (Ma Win Chai).

This is about a wealthy girl who disquised herself as a man just to get herself into a school. At that time no women are allowed to go to school. She fell in love with her friend at school. But her family didn't approve and ordered the girl to go home and get married with a man whom her family thinks appropriate for their child. But the man didn't give up, so he finally graduated and become a small governor in a province and proposed to the girl. But the girl's family still didn't agree cause they think that he's only a small governor. So the man came into the girl's house and asked the girl to escape with him. But the girl's family knew bout it and they whacked the guy until he's dying. The girl tried to stop it, she begged to her parents but they wanted the girl to promise not to see the guy again and married to a high ranked governor whom his father had approved. She agreed. So they got separated but for awhile. The man who's dying finally died and he wanted to be buried outside the city gate where the girl lived so he can see her once again. When the girl found out, she wanted to pray for him at his graveyard.When she finally arrived there, suddenly the grave opened and the girl just fell in and the grave closed by itself.
