Well that's what some people believe anyway. There is a rumour and belief that Paul McCartney died in 1966, and now has a look-alike and sound-alike put in his place. This sounds crazy, and it probably is, but people believe there is subtle clues hidden in there music and album covers (hundreds in fact). Many Beatles fans suggest that this conspiracy theory was put out there purposely as a clever hoax, or to boost record sales. And some that the Beatles are trying to put clues into there work about what really happened to Paul, as they are not allowed to tell anyone and have been silenced.
Apparently while working on the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Paul stormed out of the studio high on LSD and had a fatal car accident, he was said to die from head injuries.
Some of the clues said to hint at his death are said to be the following…
If a mirror is held up to the words Lonely hearts, on the Sgt Pepper album it reads “"1 ONE I X HE ^ DIE"“ And Paul is the first member on the album cover. Also on the back cover Paul is the only one to be facing away, interacting there is an intruder. Paul is the only one not wearing exotic clothing and seems out of place.

Another is the Song Lucy in the sky with Diamonds which capitals spell out LSD.
Also pictures of him after 1966 look different from before, some claim the face structure is different.
Another is, if you listen closely to near the end of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise), between the drawn out lyrics, hearts and club, it also sounds as if someone in the background is screaming, "Paul is dead! He's really really dead!"
On the Magical mystery tour album cover Paul is a Walrus, and in Viking and Greek legend the Walrus is a symbol of death.
There are many other so called clues, here is more information on it if you wish… Its pretty facinating.
Here are audio clues to listen to of backwards messaging called back-masking

And other information on this theory.
