Li Bing Bing Squaring Off with A Cop to Protect Vic in “Linger”Tuesday, November 27, 2007 Taiwan In one of the scenes of the movie “Linger”, Li Bin Bin fiercely resisted a crazy cop at gun point to protect a child whose name “Dong Dong” is the same as Li’s deceased boyfriend (Dong, played by Vic). Li,’s character, who was in a bookstore, was electrified when she heard the name “Dong” and immediately hallucinated that it was her dead boyfriend whose life was threatened. She visualized Dong’s image in the child who was sitting at a corner in fear; and without hesitation she fiercely protected the child from the crazy cop. As usual, Vic was completely into the character; he sat expressionless on the floor holding his knees and staring blank as if he was autistic. Vic commented, “It was easy for me. I didn’t have to do or think anything, which is quite nice. But, after sitting on the floor for so long, my legs fell asleep and when I got up I needed help from my assistant….that’s sort of embarrassing!” In contrast to Vic’s “easy scene”, Bin Bin had to work harder. Despite multiple rehearsals, when the camera was rolling Bin Bin was still pushed accidentally on the floor during her struggle with the cop. When asked if she was discontented with the actor who played the cop, Bin Bin said, “Sometimes things can’t be controlled when the camera is rolling. He wasn’t intentional either. Plus, the heels I was wearing were probably too high for me so it was difficult to balance myself. Anyways, I just twisted my ankle a little; no big deal.” www.vicpower.net/asp/dispbbs.asp?boardID=15&ID=54255&page=1Translation by gk@vicpower.net
