Scholar Cheung Kwan Sui (Ron Ng) met Hong Leong (Myolie Wu) at a lantern festival and both of them received half of a yin young jade (not very sure how to translate the name). Kwan Sui later met a rich girl Chui Ngang Ngang (Michelle Yip) being kinapped and tried to rescue her. Ngang Ngang's mother promised to married her daughter to whoever that rescue Ngang Ngang but did not keep her words. Ngang Ngang's mother wants Kwan Sui to become the top scholar before marrying her daughter. Kwan Sui moved in to Shai Shuan (the place where Ngang Ngang lived) to study. One day, the emperor Wong Man Paen met Ngang Ngang and attracted by her beauty. Ngang Ngang and Man Paen began to get along very well but Ngang Ngang and Kwan Sui had a marriage. One the other hand, Hong Leong likes Kwan Sui when she first met him at the lantern festival but did not want to express her feelings for Kwan Sui because she is Ngang Ngang's maid and also her best friends. The Toe Gok emperor is searching for his long-last princess and the emperor Wong Man Paen had a marrige with the princess. How will the relationship between the four people goes ?

this was a cute series. i liked the cast. the only thing i didn't like was the ending where we learned the identities of the two female leads. i didn't think it was fair. overall, this was an enjoyable series.
