Do you think homosexuality is a disease? Are people born with their sexuality or are they likely to change on the way to adulthood?

My friend recently told me that homosexuality can be caused by the conditions in which one was raised. I also read in a magazine that there is no "gay gene."

i think its caused by both factors... sometimes there are things in life that happened that caused ppl to turn gay.. and sometimes ppl are just gay ever since they were little..

research have shown there's no "gay gene". Given that, there's also evidence showing neurological traces of abnormality in the brain that differs from normal heterosexual individuals. It's pretty subjective because anything "neuro" is and will always be subjective.

It's pretty subjective because anything "neuro" is and will always be subjective. I support this by going back to the fact that reality is in the eye of the observer, and of course the observer.

I don't think is in your genes, but you can be born like that. It's just like people born smart, born hyper or born psychotic. It's just a matter of preference. Although the way you're raised can play a role too.

what "causes" it? (when you say it like that it sounds like a disease)
i dunno, i think it just happens (in whatever way). people like what they like, there's not much else to say about it. it's kinda like asking why some people dont like certain foods or prefer one kind of music over another. sure, there's all sorts of things that may have been learned during the person's development as a child, but no one can really say for sure. In this same respect, I think it is possible for gays/bis/straights to change their preference, though it is probably something that only few strong-willed people could do (though I don't see why they would).
